How do you pimp your peek? Case? Silicone Sleeve? What case / skin / sleeve do you want to see made for the Peek?

Custom Water Proofing

I am taking my Peek on a 2650 mile thru hike along the Pacific Crest. To keep it alive for the journey I created a super high tech, as seen on TV, Space age technology: ZIPLOCK SANDWICH BAGGIE! 8-)
Yes, you heard it here first. My PEEK with be able to withstand the raging rivers and sudden downpours, and the occasional spilled cup of hot chocolate.. with nary a fried circuit.
If I am really concerned the day might bring rain I have a backup solution.... Double Bag it!
I know.. it is genius.
Patent Pending
Terms:
Custom ziplock baggies are availiable for a one time free fee of $999.99 with a recurring service charge of 29.95 for everytime the baggie is zipped or unzipped. There is an additional 99.00 fee for lost or stolen baggies.
Legal Disclaimer:
Any use of the Ziplock Bag other than that for Tuna fish sandwiches is a violation of Federal law.

Hey, Now you have something! I could use the gladware for my dinner bowl. "Two uses for everything" is the thru hiker mantra!

And here I thought the thru-hiker mantra was "dehydrate it, dehydrate it, dehydrate it".. It's amazing how much food you can make with dehydrated veggies, some powder sauce bases (make 'em yourself if you care about what's in them), some dehydrated meats and some pasta.. pack it all up with a water filter / sanitizing tabs or solution and you've got yourself a meal on the go..

Here's a tip for ya Hetchy if you haven't heard of it before.. Hamburger Rocks.. you can use a dehydrator instead of the 200 degree oven they talk about although it takes longer (I also do them in the oven for longer than they specify) and I seal them up as single use portions in the vaccuum saver.. http://www.homesteadingtoday.com/archiv ... 83044.html It's a great way to use hamburger on-the-go provided you've got the water to rehydrate it.

For serious though, I've taken my peek sailing in one of these: http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/travel-outdoors/a6b6/

Comes with a lanyard and an armband and you can use it through the case.

Works good with a cellphone too. I could even make phone calls without a headset and without taking it out of the case.

Thanks People.
I am checking those links out!
I am amazed how much attention my Peek is getting among the thru-hiker crowd. Plenty of emails asking questions and such. Also a lot of Blackberry folks telling me "It'll never work!" Kinda funny when I emailed them back from the bottom of a Redwood canyon miles from town where my Verizon work cell didn't even work.
I think these peek devices have a lot of potential for us thru's (Well I am soon to be a thru!).
I am surprised how many people just want a simple cheap device for basic communication.
Hey, How about a Peek pimped out from the factory with a water resistant case, extra long battery life, and a new color.. Forest Green!(Ha!, I think thats funny!) Better not though, because it might push the BitterBerry people over the edge! (Just Kidding Peeps, BlackBerries have their place too!)
Cheers, Hetchy
